about

Isolophilia is the seventh official album of Dutch guitarist Marzio Scholten and the first with his new trio in which he collaborates with modern jazz giants Ernst Glerum (Boy Edgar Price winner, Instant Composers Pool) on bass and ECM recording artist Wolfert Brederode on piano.

The album’s intimate sound and meandering pace lures the listener into a magical world wherein the three musicians intertwine their instruments and tell one beautiful story at a time.

Isolophilia was recorded at the famous Studio 2 of the Muziekcentrum van de Omroep in Hilversum using one microphone only in order to capture this trio as honest and live as possible.
